Today we did a regular water change on my 20g growout and about 5hrs later almost everything was dead. My ghost and big del were dead when I saw it, the middle del was on it's way (dead now) and my smaller sen was acting funny and my smallest sen seemed ok.

What kills fish in order largest to smallest? It wasn't a temperature problem I double checked all that. My only thoughts are not enough dechlorinator (chlorine kill) or some other chemical. 4-5hr span when they died from water change. All tests are as per there norm for the past year. All steps taken are the same as I have for the past year.

The 2 sens are right now in a *bucket tank* with water from my 65g setup till I can sort this or fix them up a new temp tank. What kills in order largest to smallest??? and what should I do now, trash the 20g and start new or salvage it? They'll probably go in my 10 quarentine till I figure it out..

Oxygen, or more likely something in the water, well water or town? I lost a bunch because they do annual treatments with heavy chemicals, and didn't realize it till too late

How would it be oxygen though? It's the same tank set up as I've always had. I even have a "bubble wall" type thing in there to help dissolve more oxygen, it's new water so also has oxygen in it. Plus they're fish that can "breath" but none of them even the small ones were near the top of the water. All were at the bottom. The bigger sen was acting funny when I went to catch him to take him out as well. The little one seemed normal but all fish were at the bottom of the tank. Usually the small sen is at the top roaming.

Well how much water did you change?
I had a wipe of my fish once because i failed to notice that the tapwater had over 3ppm ammonia and the amount i dosed with detoxifier only detoxified about 2ppm worth.

Ya I just wrecked the stock in my sig with a few exceptions... What a bad day when I finally realized.

Yeh. I'm wondering if it was something added to the water. It's not well water but city water does get treated and I don't know if it did or not. I did a 40% change as I have always done for the past year on that tank. Everything is dead right now except my deformed sen ("corny" as named by you guys lol). But he doesn't move a lot and when he does his movements are twitchy. Maybe heavy metals in the water? No clue why the deformed fish lasts the longest :(

It's just kind of freaking me out because I have to do a water change on my 65g still and I don't want to screw it up if it's something in the water...

Sorry for your lost I once lost my fish due to moving tank from house to house found out it was stressed and not enough dechlorinator
