SIZE MATTERS

This guy is @ the 11-12" mark. He was the most dominate fish out of a batch of 6 that I raised from 1". While he will not tolerate any cichlids he lives with a 5" Rapheal and 3 large tinfoil barbs.

I used to have a Rapp's midas that was 15"-16" and was HUGE the only thing that out matched his personality was his sheer agression!! He would NOT havent anything in the tank with him, not even a hand or gravel vac. He considered to the whole dining room his territory and would smash the glass and flail to attack intruders. I am the biggest idiot for selling that fish!! When I get home I will see if I have pics of him to upload. He was by far the most aggresive fish I have ever witnessed.

Meant to include that my jaguar cichlid is about 4 and 1/2 years old. Got her back in August '04 when she was less than 2".

I am at work so I only have a couple pic's. I will try and take some more at home. The nicks on the head and fins are from a squable with a 11" midas.

14" from mouth to end of tail. I know you seen bigger right? Well check this, this beauty is a female! Yes you heard right a female! I would say this is a biggest in class for a female Synspilum or any Vieja Sp. for that matter. I have had her for 6 years.

His head's as wide as my fist.

And is about 1' from lip to tail... and growing.

this is the second one i have growed to this size (9"+) althou its on its average size, i hope it keeps on growing his with me since 2" (2 years ago)
