So plain and simple you guys dont think a tsn will fit in my 8X4 pond?

fit yes, but for life that's kinda up in the air most will never reach more than 4' in captivity.

Do they ever slow down or are they fast and then stop when they're done?

average 2" per month to 12", 1-1.5" per month to 2', then about .5-1" or less per month to 3', then it's slow going, but they grow continously so long as there is an adequate food supply. They grow their entire life, but it will become so unoticible, you will be measuring inches per year/years not months

but honestly an 8' by 4' is much better than most RTCs get in captivity...that setup is fine for many years so u shud be fine. i think u cud go for it.

I agree, a pond that size would be good for many, many years. You would definitely have enough time to properly plan an upgrade if you ever needed it.
