size of holes in my drip plate

I have to make a drip try myself this next week.
I was thinking that 1/8" was a little too small
1/4" sounds a little too big

thanks for all the help the plate is 12" x 24" in a 55 gallon sump with a mag 18 for the pump. AGA 210 with overflow kits. i will try 3/16 and go from there thanks for all of the help. i will be posting some pics of my new 210 and diy stand and filter by the weekend
