hi guys , i had my alligator gar for one year now . when i bough it it was 6inch and after one year its 30inch . i have it in a 275 gal tank with 5 pacu , i jaguar cat fish,i dats ,i oscar 3 tinfoil and one sucker. i would like to know how big the gator will get in this tank . 7ftX3ftX2.5ft

They get the same size no matter what tank there kept in unless the water quality is bad then they will get stunted but other wise they will all ways get the same size

It will get around 5'-7' in captivity

agreed! some people here are cocky and tends not to think before speaking. the forum was not made to flame others, the intention was to help one another so if the gar is already in his possession its best to give him the right advice not tell him how stupid he is for the mistake he made.



i would say 12'x3'x10' would be a good enclosure for it but im not quite sure with the 3' deep. try to PM solomon or poly about the this they are the ones to give the best answer to this one and with right justification.

when i got my first gar i didnt know how big it was gonna get. people get new fish all the time wthout knowing size capacity and then they come on here and ask.
