I was wondering can I skip the cycle tank process? I did a water change on my 45 gallon and took that siphon water and put it into my 28 gallon tank. I also took out one of my sponges in the filter and toss it inside the tank. The 28G filled up close to 50%, and i added 50% clean water into the tank. Is it safe to say I can start adding fishes? :naughty:

That really isn't skipping the cycling process, it will speed up the process but you do still need to cycle your tank.

thats how i did my 75 but i had an entire emperor 400 that i switched with it.

Big difference between a emp 400 and a sponge.

This sponge, what type of filter is it out of? What type filter are you running on the 28 gallon.

Right now your 28g is not ready for fish.

I would say you cut down on cycle time, but still do a bit of a cycle, better than waking up with dead fish :P

im going to be cycling a 66gal, can i start the cycle with only 50% of the tank filled and add the water i take out of my current tank each week??

so old filter system into new water and they were ok ??? WOW! dont know if im brave enough!!
