fahahka will probly pick on the goby..

the only thing i'd put in with a fahaka is something very small and VERY fast.:grinno:

if i start out with a younger fahaka will that make a difference

We have a member that just posted how he rescued a 2" beaten and sick fahaka, put it in with foot-long bichirs, and had missing fins on the polys after the 1st night.

Yeah....that was me. I don't suggest trying it, my bichirs are still pissed at me for putting that evil little guy in with them. The goby would most likely be meat.

As far as something small and fast is concerned, I put my Fahaka in with a small Green Terror that was by himself after he was picking on my Payara. The GT kinda bullied the puffer for the first day, but now the GT's fins are shredded. So small and fast isn't safe either.

FAHAKA PUFFERS + TANKMATES= CHEWED TANKMATES

If you just want any puffer than you can get an Amazon Puffer (Colomesus Asellus), but they don't get much bigger than 3"-4". They are easy to find and can be kept with larger cichlids, catfish.
If you want a BIG puffer then try to find a MBU Puffer (Tetradon Mbu). They are harder to find and are expensive, but so cool. They can reach 24"!! Not as aggressive as a Fahaka, they can be housed with large cichlids, catfish and polypterus. Here are some shots of a HUGE mbu at a LFS near my parents house in Texas. It's a "show" fish and costs....$5,000.

A mbu is NOT a choice to consider for a 75gal.

Think 300gal and up for mbus due to their messy eating habits, HUGE bio-load, and tendency to regurgitate partially digested meals.
