It is possible to raise sliders without any uv ligth and still have big healty turtles to the point were you cant distinguish thouse that have been raised with it or without it. I know about that because Ive done it all my life
But since Ive tried raising them with uv ligth their health and well being has inproved even more and now I use it on all my turts. That litle girl looks amazingly good for what school pets normaly have to resist. What I see in her is a litle piramidism on her scutes, however that should be minimized with a good diet with more greens and less protein. Try to find mazuri or zoomed turt food and complement it with loots of dark leafy greens

thanks coura. i should be able to find the food on sunday at an expo, and i have plenty leafy greens because of the dragons.
i believe her teacher is a herp keeper, she said they also have beardies and a kingsnake in the classroom as well.
