I work at a LFS and i noticed yesterday that in many of our tanks the fish were putting off alot of slime that had bubbles stuck to them. our tanks run are set up in the vats. one for tropicals, one for goldfish and one for feeders. the tropical vat has the bubbles. i haven't been at work for a few days and no one claims to have done anything different. does anyone know what might cause this?

There are slime reactions to some sporozoas and sometimes to costia (binox for sporozoas/ acriflavin, chloromine, or salt and heat for costia) but the most common cause is a sudden, large fluctuation in pH. Even if quickly corrected the slime reaction can last a couple of days.
