I usually aerate my tap water about 1-2 days before putting them in the tank. But the last time, I only used half of 40 gallon bin and left the 20 gallon of water in the bin.

After about 4-5 days, I notice slimy material on the wall of bucket and the airline tubing that runs down the bin.

is this normal ? I pulled out the airline and rinse it off with tap water and itr came fairly easy, but is this caused my excessive mineral in the tap water ?

That is most likely bacteria. It is normal and nothing to worry about. It builds up on everything involved in aquariums.

Yes your bin is now cycled !! What are you going to stock it with ????
