I have a slow growing Midas. He is two years old and has reached a whole 10". I call him a runt, but he is very well proportioned, just small for having good clean water, a large tank and high quality foods. Some fish just grow slower I guess. I do wonder if he will have a growth spurt when he goes from my 120g to his new 210g home.
