Slow growing monsters for a 60 growout???

yeah İ think a dat would be a good idea, would take you ages before you have to upgrade. if you wanted a single fish you could easily keep one large cichlid in that tank.

How about the Pseudodoras niger cat? Would a 65 even be enough room for him growing up?

They grow pretty fast as well. I got one in Oct that was about 5" and it is now over 1 foot. They also become pretty active after they are used to the tank so I would say pass and go for the Dats.

Would a type of bichir work for a 65? I'm just constantly doing research on different type of fish right now lol Thanks!
