Slow morning so new fish pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The last pic is a jewel. These guys have been together for a while. I have seen some aggression but mostly towards new tank additions they killed a endli I tried to add but never bother a 2 inch cichlid my wife snuck in the tank. Imo intentional overstocking of cichlids helps with aggression or at least I have always had luck that way.

this works to a degree with africans or an all male display. if there is a female in the mix no matter how many fish there is it will impload. when you play with fire you get burned....as i have a dovii growing out for a comunity tank....:headshake:

agreed......

Definitely have a few females in here I bought all these fish small and unsexed. I'm currently making arrangements to rehome a few if I can't find a bigger tank. As is I should be cool for a while no guarantees but no worries. not a lot tied up $ wise in my stock.

the other way the overstocking could work is if you over stock with caves. if they have tripple the cave per fish they are calmer. this also works in reverse. if they have nothing to fight over aggresstion is reduced. like you said you dont have alot of money invested in this tank so it will work itself out right? not the best way to handle agressive fish, nor the attitude to have. eg my dovii i am growing out cost me $3, but i am treating it the same way as my $250 ray or my $800+ cuban gar. price is not something to be focused on when having a tank.

No worries means I'm not going to get stressed about them. They get taken care of well. I just refuse to stress over things beyond my control. I knew what sizes they get approximately and have already upgraded size once already. Looking to do so currently. I can trade them in at my lfs but it really isn't necessary yet.
