I just got a 10 gallon grow-out tank that has a small polypterus in it right now. Soon there will be some apisto fry that will join him/her i am wondering if there is a small catfish that will be able to stay in the 10 gallon for it's whole live but won't eat the fry? Thanks in advance Dr.B :D

Just about every catfish I can think of would eat fry. Even if they are small enough to fit in a 10

i just need something that will occasionally clean up some meaty foods. A bristlenose maybe? Th fry will be at least .5 when i transport them so they won't be really small i was thinking a small cory? I was going to wait a month or so until i transported them.

What i would probably do is move the corys in when they are about an inch or so. Then when i have a new batch i will move them back to the 20 gal

you might be able to get a pimelodus pictus catfish they only get like 4 inches

Pictus are very predatory. I would go with a spotted Raphael. They stay smaller than the striped ones and make excellent scavengers. I've never had mine eat any fry either. They are more designed to scavenge off the bottom.

Actually 12" plus. They get way to big and way to active and they school songs would need 3-4+.

Spotted Raphael still are a little on the big side at 6".
