Small catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Honeycomb cats (centromochlus perugaie) are nice but you won't see them apart from at night, mine shoot out for food though. They do have the wood cat look. Otherwise I think Banjo catfish or corydoras would be the best bet.

I’ve heard that banjos need sand and leaves on the bottom. Is it okay that I have gravel?

Since they bury, I wouldn't think that gravel is ideal unless it is fine enough to be pushed around.

My gravel is pretty big. What is the largest catfish I could get?

I would rather not get cory cats. I don’t like how they look. What does the honeycomb catfish require?

Weirdo. ;) lol To each their own. I personally like them but it's you tank. :)
I agree that they may eat the shrimp too. Id go with otos, a farlowella or a raoyl twig catfish of you don't want your shrimp eaten. :)

They may ignore shrimp, honeycombs are surface feeders.

I’m probably going to go with the honeycomb cats

Will a ph of 7.5 and a temp of 75 work for the honeycomb cats?

Will a ph of 7.5 and 75 degree water be fine?
