alligator point, Florida we started in 45feet and landed 9 cobia and 4-5 grouper(red and gag) and ended in 65-70 feet where we landed 9 more cobia and 4-5 more grouper some black sea bass and a couple of nice flounder

Doesn't sound like you had a bad day. I just finished tarpon fishing today. I did pretty well for trying a new spot caught a 4 little juvi's biggest was almost 3 foot, but then I switched spots changed to some heavier gear for some big boys and got more then what I expected I caught a monster that put up one hell of a fight. I couldn't lift this fat thing out of the water for a picture, but if I had to make a guess was around 6 foot and the weight anywhere from 135-160. And this is ridiculously inshore. I called it a day after that I was to tired lol

thats a nice tarpon...the big boys like that are few and far between...i've jumped maybe 6 in the 18 years ive been fishing alligator point...all the others were little guys, no shortage of them here when they migrate thru.

Is this where all the cobia went? Went down to florida in April hoping to stick one and hear from the locals that they been missing this year.
