Ok so there is a small crick in the back of my parents house and its full of fish but i cant tell what they are because i cant catch them. Im guessing there no bigger than 6 in. I know there is some darters in there to because i caught a few. I tried a dip net and fishing with a pole with everything you can think of as bait. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to catch these fish.

buy one of those nets that you throw and its weighted to sink to the ground... prob sunnies... they are friggin everywhere... and super fast

Go to a tackle shop and buy the smallest hooks you can find...something just a little bigger than this letter "J". They do sell them, I used to catch small minnows around 2 inches long with these small hooks and 1 pound test...You could probably use 2 pound test though...Good luck!~

I agree, they are called cast nets, I have a few and they are great, take a little practice to get good at throwing them though. This would be your best bet on catching them, just make sure the mesh is small enough to catch them. You may also want to check and see if they are leagle to use in your state, they are here where I live, but I know other states have banned them.

trout hooks should work good if you want to fish for them instead of netting them, they could be smaller creek chubs or horned creek chubs .... dont know the scientific name off hand though, sorry.
