small dats?

i've been looking to get any dats, small size. i went to a lfs, been asking around and i seen in a tank looks like small dats. maybe 2" or so but they looked like dats body type, but they were spotted, and can't really see any strips. the name was something c....? also didn't have "Datnoides" in the name? scientific name?? oh and price was around 60.. didn't know the common name, but are these dats? maybe silver or AT?

Pics please. The only tiger with spots will be the silver....

It has 2 black dots on the tail, where fin meets tissue.

Might have been a leopoard ctenopoma (bushfish) they are "perch like" but But there usually £15-20 for 4-5 inch size...

i didn't get any pics, it was a my lfs store. these looked like dats, but they were very small. so can you see the stripes even when they are small sizes you can tell?

i went back to look and found out they were african cichlids, compressiceps, from Lake Tanganyika. they still look like small little dats tho.
