Well when the platys get big enough im going to put them in a comunity tank.So a ziz zag would be fine? and if so how many?

Until the platys are large enough, they'll be in danger of being eaten. Wait until they're out of the tank. 3-4 6" eels should be fine in a 10g with adequate filtration. Most eels require substantially less space than most other fish, like a 24" eel will be just fine in a 75g, whereas a 24" cichlid would need upwards of 200g.

They stay relatively small, so I don't see a problem. Just make sure your filter is rated for at least a 20 gallon. ;)
