small gar with big gar?

It's deff a risk, but its been done. give a good feeding and turn the lights off before you introduce the new one.

i had a 7 inch florida gar kill a 5 inch rocket gar and i got them at the same time if thats any help....

a risk yes i think it is but i also have smaller fish with it like my pbass but will see what other members who have kept gars for awhile will say

This should be ok.. just keep a close eye out for a bit. You can expect at least a little fin nipping but likely it will not go above this.

thanks Polypterus for the advice i know you have a lot of knowledge in keeping gars. will post some pics of my new 7inch gar next week when i pick him up

I would do it! I have a 11" or so trop in with 20"+ trops!! They seem to be fine once they go over like 10" with one another
