Check out the “soldier catfish” I’m not sure what the scientific name is but the pet store showed me them and they are badass they have spikes all along the sides of thier body. Almost like the baby of a pleco and blue catfish. I also don’t know the max length lol but worth looking into! Rare find at a pet store though. I am near this place called house of tropics and they have very rare fish, even a Nile perch!

they look similar to ripsaws I saw some down in houston last october they are badass

Very nice recommendation. Beautiful fish and is at the top of the list

yes they are one of my dream fish. one thing i know is they have certain tank width requirements because of their long long long whiskers. i think your 34" would cut it but itd be best to consult somebody whos actually raised one.

maybe thebiggerthebetter?

So I have married it down a little

Bottom dwellers will:

1. Tig or Juru. Really I think the Juru will work better for temperament. Please correct if I am mistaken.
2. Vulture Cat
3. Royal Plec
4. Maybe a sailfin variety Plec
5. Synodontis long if I can find one.
*. I would live like 4-5 pictus cats but they probably won't last too long :(
*. Would love some clown loaches too, but not happening for obvious reasons.
*hell I would love some other synodontis and even cories, but they won't last either.

I don't see why the Tig/Juru shouldn't get along
My last royal killed my gold nugget ( he was very small) so I have to think about it a bit

Will be housed with 3-4 larger mid/top swimmers and I will try once they all get to big to bother 50-100 neon tetras!!!!

I think I till be close to the stock limit of the tank. Which makes me wonder if I will be at that odd limit.... to few imho and you can have issues with aggression and it may be better to "properly" overstock (if you are a believer in such things. I just dont like the look of overstocked tanks. I am a believer in properly over stocked tanks but that is for a whole other thread that i am not interested in debating!
