Im looking for some ideas. I need a species of small(not rare) musical frog(i mean better than a freakin bull frog) that is native to PA. Id rather not buy them considering where they are gonna live.:headbang2

If u have any suggestions, im all ears

SPRING PEEPER!!!

+1. They'll be everywhere in about 2-3 months, you can go out and catch as many as you want, and then you'll go crazy from all the noise they make :).

I was thinking spring peeper. any tips on where to find them?

look around ponds and creeks at night. listen for them and shine a flashlight around where you hear them, if you're lucky you'll catch their eye-shine or see one move.

I agree with everyone. They are very common around here and aren't too hard to find if you follow the sound of their calls early in the spring. I've never kept them for long and I'm not too sure how often they'd call in captivity. Latshki, I believe Northern Cricket Frogs are protected in Pennsylvania so you can't keep them, but there are plenty of Spring Peepers around.
