Hi guys, Im thinking of setting up another smaller (100 gal) tank for a few L numbers. What other L numbered plecs can live peacefully alongside zebra plecs? I was thinking a pair of zebra plecs or 3 the very most. And would like some L numbers that do not grow very big.

Looks like a good combo to me. I'd stay away from other hypancistrus as there is always a chance of hybridisation, but other small peckoltias or panaqolus could work if you're careful with the food. If it were me I'd just stick with the zebs and let them breed and build up a good sized colony, maybe keep some corydoras, tetras, apistos etc with them?

I wouldn't mix any other plecs with zebs they're better kept in a species only tank

Yes zebras deserve their own set up! I have kept leopard frogs with them for a short time with no problems
Zebras can but if there are plenty of hiding spots should be no problem. Keep a few caves in there. Good luck
If your only going to keep 3 of them I'd say a 20 gallon would be plenty of space as they only get 3 inches long roughly. Post some pics when ya can
