Small pond predator

just catch a bass/catfish from your local rivers. quartine them and then put them in your pond

I would like to do a turtle the only problem is that during the this time of year and into late spring the pond gets no direct sunlight. I didn't quite think about that when I dug the hole. So I'm afraid a turtle wouldn't work not getting a warm basking area and uv light.
 
You could hook up one of those big halogen worklights on especially cold nights... That would give him some heat rays & keep the pond from dropping too low

Perch that is what you should do that and a tutrel and i think you wood be good then
 
Well I might have to abandon the turtle idea, my pond doesn't get enough direct sunlight. What specific type of perch would you suggest?
 
any perch....since your in fl. dont you have some cool non-natives you can catch and toss in...
