I am looking for a small solitary cichlid or mating pair that will eat ghost shrimp or guppies.

What would you recomend

The tank is 54 corner tank but It is also my juvee tank for my pleco who is about 7 inches

try some dwarf pikes or pikes they eat guppies and ghost shrimp . they are really cool and worht it

If you want some colorful predators try salvinis or rainbow cichlids...you could easily keep a nice jack dempsey in there by himself for life as well.

Try an exCichlasoma grammodes. That tank should be fine for a single male for life or close to it. Aggressive and colorful, but slow growing. Tend to be somewhat shy. I really like mine though.

salvini fit the bill...will be able to be housed there for life, are very aggressive, and will feed on the items listed

I say buy more guppies and ghost shrimp. Then get a bigger tank for the monsters you will feed them to! :D
