Tanks at the sales in my area are either way overpriced or a steal

Some guy last weekend wanted 80 for 55g glass only

down the road I got the tank, filter, tops, lights, ug-filter bulbs gravel, heater, air, nets etc.. all but the stand actually ... for 75..

Someone else wanted 20 for a 10g with filter & cover (incan light).. Wally world cost 18.88 new..

Then I find a 44 octagon with stand for free... hey you never know...
 
I got just about all my free or from garage sales or want ads last tank purchased new my parents bought me 30 years ago
 
Best aquarium related garage find for me was a working diatom filter for 5 bux Shwwing!
Everyone keep your eyes peeled for metal frame tanks of any size and vintage aquarium ornaments. You can resell that stuff on ebay for decent $. Friend of mine sold a meta-frame 20L for like $80. Anyone remember those cheesy ceramic mermaid tank ornaments from the 60s & 70s? Those often go for around $40 a pop.
 
House clearance sales and auctions produce tanks quite often .I got a 4 ft tank stand hood and accessories smarter than the one I had set up for 6 pounds I sold it straight away to a lady who was going to put a snake in it for 35 pounds and got to keep the axtras.I would have set it up but my wife said there was now were for it though a larger tank has been agreed if its a nice piece of furniture ! i have to do some decorating first though.
