Small species of pleco for 10g tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would also go with the otos, especially if you want something that will be fairly active.

Id say like a clown or something. Avoid common, sail fin, and royal and you will be good for a while. Pleco grow relatively slow and other than a common, you won't have any trouble getting rid of him if he gets too big. I had a common almost 20" but I was told he was probable older than my (im23)

Lol it doesn't take 23 years to grow a common to 20". My gibby is almost that size, and he's only 2 years old.

IMO a dwarf bristlenose would be fine in a 10g tank.

Thanks for the responses everyone! After looking it over I'll probably end up going with a clown, I like their coloration most.

Yeah clown would be a good choice, I have an albino bushynose in my 85 that is 5 years old and close to 7 inches and really wide. I had him in a 10 hospital tank while I was moving for a few days and he was not happy at all and looked really cramped.
