Small Sump Problem

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't understand how the overflow works unless you drill your tank. I will try to find a sticky.

It's not suction...it's an "OVERFLOW" the only water it NEEDS to drain, is the water your pump, PUMPS into the tank...

Below is an Overflow that doesn't need a hole in the glass...

Thanks but I still don't get how the overflow primes itself if the power comes back on while I'm not home. Do you think you find my a video on how to make an overflow?

Didn't you catch the part about the Aqua lifter?...

Just look for the DIY overflow like Rallysman said some time ago...

Search feature is on the lefthand column...

Ahhh,... maybe you need to just get a canister?!

Yeah I say the aqua lifter part but I would like to make my own overflow, I found DIY overflow threads but they didn't say how to make one. Thanks for all the help and patience.

i had the same problem,if i turned down the pump it made a noise so i put a t with a tap to slow the flow and return it to the other end of the sump. the pump then could run on full flow. its just like running some of the water through the sump twice.
