I got a Capital A and D on the bridge of skin between my thumb and index finger. The A is on my left hand and the D is on the right.

I get all mine are free cause I sketch samples for my cousin who does tattoos but it varies by location and artist.

Depending on the quality of the artist, and how much extra work is involved because of the scar it will probably run somewhere between $50-100. There are a lot of variable that figure into cost though such as overall size, level of detail, etc. The only way to know for sure is to do your research on local shops and find the one that's best for you and go in and talk to them.
One thing about tattoo shops is you get what you pay for. Kinda like fish keeping if you want the biggest and best you got to pay for it
