Not really its cause the skin on your hands is the thickest and strongest so the ink can't get deep into your skin like it would your arm or leg. The ones I got yesterday toke an hour each and I still have to go back and get it touched up so it lasts.

I've seen and had plenty of friends of with hand tattoos on kunckes and fingers, and from the bending of the fingers etc, it make it harder for the area to heal properly meaning the ink doesn't take as well, which i guess is a similar idea as yours, which in other words means it not the best of areas for a tattoo imo...
Didnt read through the whole thread, but just want to give you a heads up that, IF its inbetween a joint or webbing of your finger, i would not get it done...
Tattoos on joints; such as a persons knuckles always fade, and will need to be re-done a few times before really being able to last because of all the movement...

The scar could deform the look of the tattoo that's another reason why I asked to see it cause if its a scar that bubbles up it would deform it
