I picked four new young Tems on Sunday and have been have difficulty getting them to feed. I already have three 2.5inch Tems that are feeding well and growing but the new bunch are only an inch long.
I have been feeding them baby Hikari pellets with no luck.
They may be just acclimatising to their new surroundings but I am worried as they are expensive and I realy want to see them feed so I can relax.
I am going to try and mix the pellets with some blood worms to try and entice them to feed.
I can't post picks of the new fish as they all hind behind the heater at this stage.

i don't know how small the pellets you're using actually are.. but if the tems are only 1" long you might want to crush them first. pop a handfull in your coffee grinder, or put a hand full in a zip lock bag and run a rolling pin over it till the pellets are crushed.

you might also want to look for baby brine shrimp (frozen of course) and/or frozen daphnia cubes.

having hiding places, plants (even plastic ones), rocks, driftwood to hide in and swim around, and substrate.. some peacock bass get freaked out by the great big empty in the bottom of the tank..

the cool thing about tiny peacock bass is that they will strike at anything that moves.. i have a powerhead in the top of a sponge filter in my baby peacock bass tank and to get them to eat i thawed brine shrimp and blood worms in a glass with tank water and then poured it in front of the powerhead outlet stream.. it moves like it's alive and they strike on it and eat it.. works like magic for getting the tiny guys off live food.

I got them from Meng at Keysborough he hooked me up with a new batch he recently got in. They are much smaller than the last three I got from him about six weeks ago.
I am going to try baby brine shrimp and blood worm tonight and see watch happens.

good luck with them!
i'd pump them up with live mixed with a bunch of non live foods.
pellets,shrimp etc.
have alot of current in there, helps them grow and they will attack anything that is moving.

I hope they will grow fast because it means the 500g tank I have planned will have to be brought forward rather than April/May next year. I have a new 260g that I am cycling right now that they can progress to after they graduate from the 55g.
