I highly recommend salvinis. That's my ~5" female in my avatar.

What are some small to medium sized aggressive new worlds that wont get bigger than 9" ? Stuff along the lines of Convicts, Blue Acara, Neets, and Salvini.
Salvini's are mean lil monsters and the biggest i have seen a male is 9"

Red Jewels, cutteri, 5 star Jewel.

Tonight I got rid of a 4" male JD that is viscious. I traded him and a lot of aquarium items that I was never going to use for a 55 gal tank. I think that I made out well considering that the JD has killed 2 female JD's, and several pleco.

grammodes are nasty little fish umm what about a texas they are usualy around 8 to 10 inches i love texas and also black/pink convicts

assuming you want to be sure to stay under 9", I'd skip the GT and put a "maybe" on the Dempsey . . . I don't think Blue Acara or Firemouth are particulalry aggressive, but there are exceptions in every breed

Salvini would be a nice choice . . . colorful, nasty reputation, and likely to max-out at that 6-8" sweet-spot . . .

i have a pair of Blue Acara's in a 120 gallon with some other small fish, and the male rules the whole tank. He has a nasty reputation and makes sure everyone else knows where they stand. When my pair bred, he put on some amazing colours, so I think overall quite a nice fish at 5 inches.

Check out my tank in my signature for pictures. :D

I like the Bartoni suggestion, Grammodes too are what im looking for. Also cutteri and firemouth are possibilities. I also thought of Nicaraguan's as a possibility. Salvini will definately be in the tank. Do Cubans get above the 9" mark? Keep the suggestions coming - small to medium size with medium to high aggression. thanks.

I love BAs, I think they are great fish . . . but while they might tend to bully smaller fish, they won't necessarily kill them, which is what some truly aggressive fish would do :grinno:

and as noted, they will stay under 6", so they are great for smaller tanks (say 55G) where a GT would be too big . . .
