Just need osme ideas for some small turtles that can stay small. I know some but you guys always have good ideas. I have a friend that wants a turtle in the worst way but dosent want to have to build a huge pond or a large tank. I was thinking mud turtle but just give me some ideas.

Mud and Musk Turtles, Spotteds, Texas and Cagle Map Turtles, Southern Painteds, Reeve's Turtles, etc all stay pretty small, between 4-7 inches
another vote on mud and musks. Some map turtles stay smaller but get bigger than the others I mentioned.
I second or third Mud or Musk. I have 3 of them and they're great little turtles with loads of personality. You can get away with a tank the size of a 40 gallon breeder for life.
I agree that US native muds (eastern, mississippi, three stripe) common musks (razorbacks and others get a bit bigger) and southern painted turtles are your best choices. Males of some map species and male eastern/midland painteds are also good secondary choices.
