I have something that looks quite like this on my motoros, only its black..Thougth it was pretty usual and no harm? I wouldnt threat anything before i knew, and that someone that actually had this writes up here.
Most motoros I have seen have those bumps normally (marbles especially). This fish is 50% marble and normally has these bumps, but they are colored like the rest of the body. Them turning white is the unusual part to me.

BTW- thanks for the replys everyone. Just hope I can get to the bottom of this.

so the bumps have always been there? and they just turned white? or did they just appear? if they just out of no where then it could be an ich problem.

Yeah, the rays skin looks just like any marble motoros regular skin texture, kinda bumpy. It seems that they just turned white around the eye/gill area.

About the ich, I have never seen or had a ray in my care get ich, even with infected fish in the tank. It might be possible, but just from looking at it I can tell its not ich.

looks natural to me. u can see there is diffrent shades of those bumps, some lighter some with a little brown. to me just looks like natural texture of the ray. as long as the ray is eating and still acting normal i wouldnt worry. im not a expert tho., just my 2 cents

2x but im no expert either. I read and learn every day :)

It's from ph swings Or chlorine exposure.I see this all the time after I do water changes.also organic waste build up inside your filters foam this will cause ph to drop

Don't medicate just maybe start with water change with pretreated water about 50% than maybe start a regular daily routine of 25% daily changes with pretreated water those bumps will go away I'n a day or two
