Hello everyone. I am interested in finding some mild tempered cichlids for a planted tank, ones I may also be able to put community fish with. I was thinking something like Honduran Red Points or some other Cryptoheros, though I don't know how well they do with plants... Also, I'd prefer to stay away from dwarf cichlids.

So, is there anything that fits what I am looking for, or am I out of luck?

Ah sorry, 55.

a small pike cichlid is a nice starter. Some type of saxitillis pike....

Why the wish to stay away from Dwarf Cichlids? Rams, Apistos are perfect for a tank like that.

Other options I would consider (my personal taste), are Aequidens diadema, Cleithracara maronii, Laetacara dorsigera and Laetacara curviceps, mixed with Tetra (preferably high bodied), smaller Pleco and Corydoras. You could even have a couple of Severum in that tank, though I'd avoid having the smaller dwarf Cichlids if that were the case, especially if they pair up. That and your plants would get destroyed :p

Sajica would be a great choice for that tank !!!!!
:iagree: so would any thorichthys sp's, severums, most acaras, maybe salvini, HRP also have you ever thought angels, discus and rams?
