ok, i really like the way arowannas look, but i don't really have the funds to house a silver. so i want to know what the smallest aro is. i know that asians are pretty small compared to the others, so what is the smallest, cheapest aro out there?

Jardini are generally considered the smallest, maxing out at 24". As you said some asians can fall into this range as well. I have seen 2.5" jars go for as low as $30 but more commonly they go for around $60.

what would be the minimum tank size for a jar or an asian then?

That is a debatable subject, personally I feel that a 6'x2'x2' is the smallest tank for one of the above.

SEnor, you really hit the top with your new pornographic avatar!!!:headbang2 :headbang2

Smallest Aro, a Jardini..

i would have to agree.... jar would be the smallest and cheapest it will get. around my area ive seen bout 2.5-3" jars go for as low as $20. average would be $25

i would have to say MIN. size tank would be 4x2x2. if you want to slow down the growth in a temp. tank i would suggest feeding it less proteins such as feeders.

:screwy: You think you can keep a 24" fish in a 48" tank? Man thats just wrong. And as far as regulating growth by feeding, well if your gonna keep fish keep'em healthy. If you starve them or feed them crap you will have an unhealthy fish.

Jardini(which eveyone already stated) is the smallest, but in most cases is a single inhabitant for your tank. A 180gallon 6' x 2' x 2' is the bare minimum for keeping a mature jar.
