Thought this was an interesting topic. Saw on Wikipedia there was a type of 1 inch elephantfish species! Smallest i've heard of was an actually imported species of baby whale that got 3 inches. Just wonderin' if there we're ANY species that could fit in 20 gal. Don't worry I keep a real close eye on water changes and parameters.

Xenomystus are neither small nor electro-sensory. They have big eyes that reflect like a cats but they don't possess that sensory organ like South American knife fish.

Although xenomystus do not generate electricity for communication and are not a gymnotiform, it does have ampullary electroreceptors for hunting it's prey inverts.

Yes I'm fully aware. They also have excellent vision much to my dismay and often avoid me haha. You must check the Stickies I've written..

They are. I own a group of 4, they just appreciate a well decorated and planted tank.

I want some people to figure out hoW to breed them, although I'm pretty sure it's been done before although rare. Coolest thing is that they "bark" while doing it.

I'm busy trying. Currently it's just amounting to adding food and waiting, my water is ideal and food good so I'll see what happens :)
