so how did you acclimate them to the tank.. or did you?.. thats dam awsome :headbang2

That was one decision that took me hours to make. The eggs was saved from a local lake and was transported home in a 5 gallon bucket filled with lake water. Hundreds of eggs were sticking (pun intended) out of the bucket and were knocked off into the bottom of the bucket.

Once home, the eggs at the bottom were siphoned off to a 2 gallon plastic tub where most of them hatched too. It took me several hours to figure out how to transfer the stick with eggs to the 5 gallon tank. Wanted to move them to a 10 gallon at least but none were available. Was trying to rig something that would allow me to transfer the lake water from the bucket to the tank to eliminate any acclimation. In the end I decided it would take too long to do that and would leave the eggs dry, too long, possibly damaging their chances to hatch, and simply filled the 5 gallon with aged tap water and 10 drops of formalin.

Eggs on the stick were simply transferred from the bucket to the tank without acclimation. Added 10 drops of 5% Methylene Blue 4 hours later. The only other thing in the tank is a 1 inch diameter air stone.

Come to think about it, there was temperature acclimation that went on. It sat in the bucket for hours while figuring out what to do. The temp in the bucket normalized to the temp of the aged water that was stored in the same area.

Wow Juan this is fascinating. Keep recording and providing us with details as the growing stage progresses.

I love reading this stuff, if you could keep a record of what and how you did things each day/week that would be awesome man
