as slow as Orinos grow you won't see 24" anytime soon.. my big orino is right around 11" and has been for a year or so. and my little guys are in the 5" range now.
i am a little different though, i don't feed my fish several times a day to make them grow faster. i feed meat of some kind (market shrimp, tilapia filet, chicken breast, red snapper fillet that i forgot to cook for myself, the occasional chicken heart) about once a week. and i feed hikari cichlid gold and the new carni sticks once a day, sometimes i skip days, but not often.
i feel that growing slower is more natural and they will be healthier in the long run. i know this goes against what most the other cichla keepers say and do. it's my opinion and my fish are healthy, but they don't grow as fast as some folks think they should.
