Smallmouth Bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Smallmouths are large, close to or over two feet in length, they also prefer cooler waters then many other fish, say for instance a largemouth. With the cool water they like a high amount of oxygen. Beyond all that...and their need for live food, they make decent aquarium fish.

My grandpa lives in Kentucky and has some of these in his pond that's 8' deep, 50' long, and 30' wide (roughly). They are all females or something so they can't reproduce and feeds them nothing but pellets.

SMALLER TYPE CALLED ROCK BASS ARE MORE REALISTIC FOR THE AQUARIUM THEY ONLY GET ABOUT 10 TO 12 INCHES.... I HAVE NOT KEPT THEM YET BUT WANT TO AND FISH FOR THEM ALOT LATELY BUT HOW EVERI DO HAVE A BLUE GILL CHECK IT OUT.. :D

Neat fish

Rock bass ? not sure of the name.

there are pickeral local and a few types of sunfish like perch maby..

I catch these on occasion. They take quite a variety of baits, and are considered a nuisance, as they taste like crap. I like them because they have great red eyes.

Should wild fish be quarantined before being put in the main tank ? if so for how long ? medicated ?
