Yah I would agree, its hilarious watching my wife walk by the tank in the evening, because the perch follow her as she goes by expecting food. Any updates on your bass?

In that pic it doesn't look like the jaw extends beyond the eye. It's a bad angle but you may have a spotted bass. Congrats on having him recognize you so quick. I raised my LMB from a fingerling and he's about 4 pounds now. He eats from my hands and will jump for food if you hold it above the surface.
I don't think there's spotted bass where I live an the pond I got it from is loaded with largemouths. I let him go back in the pond it was too hard feeding him only live and he was getting big fast. It's a private pond that isn't attached or near any streams so no harm done
