LOL...my mono doesn't hit as hard as my tems, but i can tell he's learning...lol...Ive been top water fishing for pbass in hawaii...our only freshwater lake in hawaii has pbass and not to much people know that but yeah...you can tell the difference if you got hit by a lmb or a pbass, without even looking!!!

I had no idea Hawaii had Cichla in any body of water. Were they put there on purpose, or dumped?

when its feeding time in my tank they hit topwater so hard its like i have little dolphins in my tank i get soaked every time.

here are some pictures (best i could do) of my pbass smashing freeze dried krill on the top water....big splash for 4 to 5" fish...well they are CICHLA:headbang2

I just got my fish to eat krill for the first time last week. Currently only my 18'' Pinima eats pellets. Since they took the krill last week this showes me that it is possiable to get them on all types of food.

As far as the top water feeding. I keep towels around the canopy of my tank. Me and my friends call it there version of "Make it Rain". And the noises and commotion from a 10+ size cichla is amazing. And add to that if you have numbers. If your P's are 5''+ then man you got some more happy moments in your future believe me!
