SMB Tank - Length or Gallonage?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok. I finally locked in on an All Glass Aquarium 210 gallon Megaflow with two overflows predrilled. It is 72x24x29.

I figure that I am going to buy the two of the overflow accessory kits for the two overflows. For filtration then I will be using a sump obviously. What sumps would you recommend for this setup and will I only need one for the two overflows? How would I go about piping the rest from the accessory kit? I am new to all of this so any help would be appreciated.

Also, where would I go about getting the glass tops and the lights? I am not even sure what kind of a light (size and brand) I would need for this.

Thanks!

BJ

I want to get a sump for this setup. I am looking at a 55 gallon. Can you hook both overflows to one sump? What brands do you recommend?

I would buy a sump rather then build it. If you have never made one it may be a little tricky and the ramifications of an error on your part aren't worth it. Plus it will end up costing you almost as much to build your own.

I ended up purchasing a Marineland Model 4 sump with a Maxijet 4500 pump. I am really confused on how to plumb the thing though!

How do you hook the return hose to it?

I haven't received it yet. It is in transit, but I was going by pictures to try and start planning my plumbing.

Its not terrible difficult. I have one drain into the sump then one return coming from the pump. My suggestion is just start easy and then modify. The best way to do it is just do some research you can find lots of pictures and ideas online. Once you find one you like go with it.
