it they have leftovers, remove them after 10mins if not eaten. the rotting massivore might be the culprit.

Try using Septobac or other similar products! Really good stuff. I now use it. It keeps water crystal clear removes oder and keeps fish healthy. Search probiotics here. RD has a really good thread on it
