smelly water !?!?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
By chance to you use Aquamel or another conditioner with amonia lock? For a while I was using Aquamel and that added a horrible strong smell to the tank. I switched to a strait de-chlorinator with no amonia lock, and all is good.

Any updates on the smell? What are you feeding the bass? Filtration?

i feed the hikari large pellets i put carbon in my filters i have 2 cascade 1500's on the tank and 3 poweheads with filters on it i woke up this morning and couldnt smell it

Setup a man cave and post a no girls allowed sign! You don't go messing around in her linen closet and telling her that it smells too snuggle fresh!*

How long has the tank been setup, how often do you gravel vac/water change and what are you running for filtration and circulation?

*Pure assumption, if your the kinda guy that messes around with linen closets thats fine and I accept you as you are.

Do you have any ammonia remover? Try putting that in your filters. That might help. Also, you might've gotten use to the smell. It happens. I used to walk into my house thinking it smelled fine and no one would say anything when they come over, but my parents would come over and tell me that the house stinks, LOL.
