The doctor said its most likely because of second hand smoke from her friends and family who DO smoke.

I do feel for your friend believe me.
My grand dad died of lung cancer last year , never smoked and drank VERY little.

The doctor is full of it.

with what is in the air these days especially in major cities , second hand smoke is the least of any ones worried

trust me stress goes by by and its healthy, your tired at first ill admit, but you have more energy to spend in the end, i can run 12 miles, go through a full 9 hour day of work and still not be tired by the end of the day

I was actually thinking of trying that. I smoke and have tried to quit but Im weak when it comes to smoking, I admit it. Anyway I also have a mild cold so I was thinknig, "yea I'll quit and start jogging". Well on my way home all those plans went out the window when I stopped and bought a carton.......pffffffttttt

Some things in that statement affect others, some don't. If you want to get STD's, be my guest. Feel free to get drunk. Don't make me smell like an ashtray or breath that crap because you choose to. Don't drive drunk, especially not into my car or my house. It's about respecting other people, not infringing on your right to damage your health. I like to have a good cigar every once in a while, but I bet a lot of people in bars wouldn't appreciate it if I stoked up one of these next to them.

other people don't respect the fact that some people smoke so why should smokers respect them? If you don't like the smoke go to another bar. It's your choice!! It's like if you don't like the kind of music a bar plays don't go there. If you asked them to play something you liked they would tell you to stick it. It's like I stated before these laws cater to the prefference of a few.. I think in the least the owner of the property should make the choice of whats allowed.. the state gov's are getting to much power..

For hundreds of years too much money has been made from tobacco, smoking will never go away, people have the right to do it or not, so I can't tell anyone what to do, however I do think smoking indoors is B.S. because that will make everyone inside smoke whether they want to or not, I figure if you smoke in your own place or outside you don't bother /disrespect anyone and they shouldn't bother/disrepect someone for doing it. Please don't smoke in the car/house with kids if you can, let them have a fair shot or chance to choose if they want to smoke or not just like you probably did, it is true that we will all die from something someday and if someone wants to make the chances of dying young come sooner let them do it if they aren't hurting anyone else, for the record I have done things that will kill me too so I can't judge, just an opinion
