"smokey" my 24 inch fire eel

I picked this guy up a short time ago.He is in my 450 gallon tank with two big jag rays,gars,arowanas,and a big endli.He seems to be getting along with everyone.he is the most curious fish i have ever had and has checked every crack/crevice in the tank.How big do these guys get?He is as big around as my arm.

they can get up to 4 feet or just shy.

You should see this guy top out at around the 36 inchmark to the 40 inch mark I would say....Personally never seen one over the 36 inch mark yet though.But they supposed to beable to get that big from what I have herd...

Very nice, i dont think a captive one would reach 48" though 36" is still a monster theyre also very beautful fish and its a gorgeous specimin youve got there.
