Went to a LFS today and just browsed then... saw a small 1 inch Royal!!! sucking away at a plant. I immediately called over a worker there and asked how much it was. The guy said "I don't know let me ask" and he went to ask his manager. "How much for those sucking fish". The manager must have thought I came for a common pleco because when I walked out of that store, I paid only 2 dollars. Upon closer inspection the coloring is superb but the stomach is a little sunken. Poor thing must have been starving in there. I'll have to fatten him up and if possible I'll get some pictures up later. Currently in my 10 G hiding behind a small piece of driftwood.

The L191 and other common royals go for around $30 around here. Good score! Make sure to get him some proper driftwood right away, he can't live on mopani or other extremely hard wood species. They digest medium density woods much better and show faster growth when fed these. Veggies are a great start, though.
when i got my royal a couple years ago, he was barely over 1" and i paid $25 for him. good "deal" lol
