Snail Detected Please Help!!!

They don't really eat healthy plants. They're just misunderstood since they do eat the decaying and dead plant parts which can be mistaken as seemingly eating healthy plants in general.

I'd personally leave them alone. They are easily controlled by limiting food rations and doing periodic culling. Besides, your fish will appreciate the extra protein by crushing the snails and feeding them to your fish in the process.

You have 1 pest snail means in a week you will have a hundred XD My tank is getting raided by pest snails right now but I actually see them as a clean up crew. They finish off uneaten wafers and eat dying plants. IMO they are UGLY snails but I think they are helping out. Once a week I've been removing a bunch and dropping them in my other tank for my assassin snails. (Not putting them with my nerites!)

They are common pond snails that you brought in when you bought your plants. They will not harm the plants and will generally help with your tank. When you start seeing them multiply (which I did not) then you can manually remove the excess.

clown loaches

TOTALLY agree, I might get flamed....but I have a good friend that owns a pet store, if (only happened once) I get a lot of snails I go to her, and she let me borrow a clown loach and in about a week I have no signs of snails. Then I tank the Clown back to her.

+1 on taking it back. Funny little story!

I had a sail problem not that long ago and was told about assassin snails..feeling skepticle I still bought them because of the colors of their shell. Any who....I don't have those little pesky snails anymore. The assassin snails seem to reproduce rapidly also but not nothing like the snails on the pics above. I started out with 2 about 8 months ago and now I have about 8, so yeah not bad at all.
