snail eaters

They prefer snails, but can be supplemented with frozen bloodworms and sometimes meaty pellets (catfish pellets, shrimp pellets).
 
You can always set up a 5g and breed pond snails there for constant supply. Overfeed and they'll boom in no time.:)
 
There have been isolated reports of them opportunistically eating shrimp. They do not typically target them. I have not heard of them going after fish at all. They did take down a golfball sized bridgesii snail I was housing them with. They lay singular eggs which take quite awhile to hatch and the baby snails are very slow growing, so no..they do not overpopulate quickly.
